Garfield a lazy, fat, lasagna-loving pet cat of Jon was adapted as a prime-time television special in 1983 in “Garfield on the Town”. In 1988 after a few successful cartoon specials, CBS began the season one cartoon show, “Garfield and Friends”. With tremendous success, Garfield and Friends lasted for a total of seven seasons, from September 17,1988 – October 7, 1995.
